Let’s knit up the town

...
Let’s knit up the town — together.
We want to freshen up Uherske Hradiste and allow young artists as well as the public a chance to be creative around town.

Students from the Střední uměleckoprůmyslové školy Uherské Hradiště (SUPŠ) will create knitted projects with the public along a selected trail through Uherske Hradiste’s streets, where a stream called the Rechla used to run during the Middle Ages, thus livening up the city with their remarkable works of art. Residents of local retirement homes with help the students with their knitting and crocheting, and anyone who is passionate about knitting or brightening up the streets of our city is welcome to join.

The culmination of the project will take place at the preview on 6.10.2019, which will be accompanied by a walk with the students, graduates, and professors at SUPŠ. The streets of the city will be decorated with knitted works of art, and an object will be unveiled in the center where the public will be involved in knitting during the previous months. At selected locations, they can knit or crochet pieces of scarf, which then becomes part of one of the objects on the streets of the city.
